What is the PSAT/NMSQT?

The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is the pre-test that gives students a preview to the SAT. High school students (primarily juniors and some sophomores) take this multiple-choice Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing exam since the results can highlight focus areas for SAT preparation. Juniors can be identified as National Merit Scholars (juniors only) for possible college scholarships.

PSAT/NMSQT administration at Davis Senior High School will be Saturday, October 12, 2024.

PSAT registration will open at the beginning of the 2024-2025 school year. Registration priority will be given to juniors with sophomores automatically added to a waitlist. Please check back here in late August for registration instructions.

The PSAT/NMSQT will only be offered in College Board's digital format with students using DJUSD-issued Chromebooks. A technology-readiness check will be required prior to testing day. More information regarding the technology component will be provided closer to the testing date.
