What is the PSAT/NMSQT?
The PSAT/NMSQT (Preliminary SAT/National Merit Scholarship Qualifying Test) is the pre-test that gives students a preview to the SAT. High school students (primarily juniors and some sophomores) take this multiple-choice Math and Evidence-Based Reading and Writing exam since the results can highlight focus areas for SAT preparation. Juniors can be identified as National Merit Scholars (juniors only) for possible college scholarships.
PSAT/NMSQT administration at Davis Senior High School will be Saturday, October 12, 2024 and Saturday, October 26, 2024.
As of today (August 30), our October 12 PSAT is at capacity and registration is now closed. 11th graders have registration priority and can still sign up for the October 26 administration date. Please register using this PSAT October 26 Registration Form. Registration for the 10/26 administration will remain open until September 11 when registration closes or when we reach capacity.
In an effort to accommodate all our students and offer equitable opportunities for accessing the PSAT/NMSQT, DJUSD is offering a second administration date for the PSAT this fall. We apologize for the oversight in our original scheduling communication and hope that this adjustment will allow access for all of our students.
In addition to the October 12 administration date, DJUSD will offer the PSAT on Saturday, October 26, 2024.
Please note, if you have already registered for the October 12 administration and would like to change your registration to October 26, please complete the October 26 registration form and note your desire to switch dates where indicated.
The PSAT/NMSQT will only be offered in College Board's digital format with students using DJUSD-issued Chromebooks. A technology-readiness check will be required prior to testing day. More information regarding the technology component will be provided closer to the testing date.
