MENU DHS:

Attention ALL Seniors!

Be sure to get your Grad Night ticket before the prices go up. You only have 7 MORE DAYS for pre-sale tickets. Tickets are on sale on-line until midnight May 30th for $85.00 at www.davisgradnight.org or you can buy the tickets in person after the senior assembly on Wednesday outside the gym. After that, tickets will ONLY be available at the door for $100.00. This is an amazing night and worth every penny! Food and entertainment… everything is included in the price. This will be the last night the class of 2018 has to celebrate together so… hurry up and buy your tickets!

 

CLUBS:

Guys, gals, and nonbinary pals! Come to the GSA meeting this Friday at lunch in Mr. Moore’s room, P-21 near the elevator. We will be counting our discussion on stereotypes and language from last week.

 

CAREERS:

Senior Awards Night is almost here!  ALL SENIORS are invited to come to Senior Awards Night on Tuesday, May 29 at 6:00 p.m. in the Richard Brunelle Performance Hall.  We encourage all seniors and their families to join us in celebrating the many accomplishments of our 2018 Senior Class.  Now posted in the windows of the Career Center are the names of all students receiving scholarships, awards, or special recognition at Senior Awards Night. Come to the Career Center to see if your name is on the list.

 

APUSH Meeting for incoming juniors

All students signed up for AP US History next year need to come to a mandatory meeting at the beginning of lunch next Wed, May 30th in the library.  Please bring your student ID in order to check out the textbook and receive the Summer Assignment. The meeting starts at 12:20pm. See you there!

Do you want to learn about chemistry, anthropology, archaeology, biology, neuroscience and comparative literature majors at UCD?  Join Inspire to Aspire UCD mentors at 2:30 in the DSHS Library. Professors from UCD will do a panel presentation on these majors.  The first 20 students will receive a free copy of Stephen Covey’s bestseller: “7 Habits of Highly Effective Teens.”

Youth leadership Davis is hosting a student-led discussion on homelessness during lunch in room ASC-100 in the All Student Center come to hear from special guest Ryan Collins, homeless outreach coordinators for the city. All are welcome!

Yesterday evening, Da Vinci High students and parents reported a concerning message posted to social media threatening a school shooting today. The Da Vinci administration received copies of this post and worked through the night with DJUSD Administration and the Davis Police Department to address the matter. While this investigation is ongoing we can confirm that the student that posted the message has been identified and will not be present on campus today. All schools in the Davis Joint Unified School District, including Da Vinci High School and the Valley Oak Preschool Programs are open today.

 

DJUSD Administrative personnel and Davis Police Department will be present on the Da Vinci High campus today to ensure student and staff well-being safety and address any questions they have. If you have information that might be helpful to the investigation, please contact Davis Police directly at 530-747-5400 and press "0" to reach Dispatch.

 

We understand that there are many students and families across our district that may share concerns about this matter. If you feel that your child needs support, please contact your school principal.
