August, 2020

Dear Davis Senior High School Family,

On behalf of the Davis Senior High School Staff, it is my honor to welcome you and all Blue Devils to the 2020-21 school year. I hope your time with family and friends this summer, given the current circumstances, has been meaningful and enriching.

We are excited to greet our new students and reconnect with our returning juniors and seniors. I am proud to work with dedicated vice principals Chandra Wengler, Sonam Singh, and Nina Nero, Head Counselor Cathie Pereira, Athletic Director Jeff Lorenson, and classified and certificated staff who are coordinating a smooth and successful opening of school. We are welcoming new, talented and inspiring certificated and classified colleagues to our family. Together we cherish our opportunities to help our students grow personally and intellectually, pursue their interests, and make friends.

The DSHS Staff came together this summer, to participate in professional development and departmental collaboration, organize engaging curriculum, share best instructional practices and resources, and create positive digital classroom cultures. From the start, we will give special attention to our students’ social-emotional needs and well-being and ensure safe, welcoming and inclusive experiences for all. We are committed to the principles of equity, accessibility and innovation.

The first day of school is August 26, 2020. During our first week together, we will focus on building community and fostering positive relationships. We will also provide the training and resources necessary for everyone to participate fully through Canvas, our Learning Management System.

Go Blue!
