DHS BSU will be meeting at lunch in room P-11. Come and learn more about cultural diversity.

 

Hey NHS! We are holding a meeting today in S-12. We will be announcing our community service events and going over other information. We hope to see you there!

 

Science Bowl will be meeting at lunch in room S-8. If you are interested in Biology, Physics, Math, and more, we hope to see you there!

 

Julius Achon, subject of the book The Boy Who Runs, will be speaking in Brunelle Theater at lunch today October 23rd. He will also be speaking in the DSHS Library at 7 p.m. Achon was kidnapped by Joseph Kony's army when he was young.  He escaped and later fell in love with running.  He came to the US to run and attend university and later ran in the 2000 Olympics for his native country of Uganda.  Reminder: NO FOOD OR DRINK ARE ALLOWED IN BRUNELLE THEATER.

ACADEMICS/OPPORTUNITIES/EVENTS:

Seniors, Prestige Photography will be on campus on Friday, November 3rd, 2017 to take senior photos.

If you have not taken your senior photos please make sure to contact Marlen Cabrera, VP Secretary right away via email mosoriocabrera@djusd.net or by phone (530)757-5400 Ext: 113. If you want to appear in the senior section of the yearbook, you must take your senior photo through Prestige. The cost is $20 if you wish to purchase proofs and select your yearbook photo, or free if you do not wish to purchase proofs.

 

Do you want help on your math homework? Come join Mr.Gonzales at the DSH Library After-Hours Program every Wednesday and Thursday from 5:45pm-7:30pm. 

 

We would like to invite you to our first meeting of the English Learners Advisory Committee, or ELAC.  ELAC is a team that is here to support the families of Davis High School Students who have been identified as English Learners. Our meeting will be this Thursday Oct 26th, at 5:30 p.m. in the Davis High School Library. Please don’t miss it! We will talk about very important topics like; the EL Program and how it focusses on supporting our English Learners, resources available for English Learners and School Field Trips. Food will be provided and children are welcome.  If you have any questions, you can call the school at 530 757 5400, ext. 162 and talk to Kellie Sequeira the EL Specialist.  We hope to see you there!

 

Nos gustaría invitarle a nuestra primera reunión Del Comité Asesor de estudiantes de inglés o ELAC.  ELAC es un equipo que está aquí para apoyar a las familias de los estudiantes de secundaria de Davis que han sido identificados como estudiantes aprendises del idioma inglés. Nuestra reunión será este jueves Oct 26 a 5:30 en la biblioteca de la High School de Davis. Por favor, no te lo pierdas! Model United Nations meeting this Tuesday. Don’t forget to fill out the waiver online and the permission for the Berkley workshop by Tuesday. Also, drivers need to fill out the drivers form. See you then!

 

CAREERS:

The Davis Waldorf School is looking for volunteers to help with their Halloween event on Saturday, October 28th from 8:00 – 9:30 pm.  Come to the Career Center for more information.

 

North Davis Elementary school needs CABIN LEADERS for their trip to Walker Creek from January 8-12. The deadline to apply is November 1. Come to the Career Center for an application.
