Email for Students

Email for Students

As of October 17, 2017, students in grades 2-12 will have access to email through the district's G Suite (Google) domain, @djusdstudents.org. Students will use the Gmail interface for district email accounts.

To introduce this tool, students are being shown a brief training video explaining how to log into the email account, and some basics on email etiquette.

The new student email will be filtered and closely monitored 24 hours per day.  This happens through a secure  platform that scans all content on DJUSD students’ Google accounts for any traces of language indicating danger, bullying, suicide, weapons, pornography and more.  DJUSD administrators are notified immediately, and if need be the police, in the event of any student potentially at risk.

Digital Citizenship is the work done to provide students instruction about internet safety, digital footprint, cyberbullying and privacy and security.  DJUSD will be providing digital citizenship instruction in all grades and at all schools, including training about the new Gmail for students, and email safety and etiquette.  If you would like to check out our new Digital Citizenship Website for students, staff and parents, please visit the DJUSD Website at djusd.net, and under Departments, visit Instructional Technology Services.

Visit our district Digital Citizenship site for more information on Digital Citizenship.
