Principal's Welcome Message

Dear Davis Senior High School Family,

On behalf of the Davis Senior High School staff, I proudly welcome you and all Blue Devils to the 2018-19 school year! This year promises to be a very exciting one, and we are looking forward to helping all of our students thrive and enjoy many fulfilling and memorable experiences on our campus. Working together, we will continue our rich tradition of excellence in academics, the arts, and athletics.

I am honored to return this year as principal to lead a dedicated, skilled, and compassionate staff. D.S.H.S. Vice Principals Amelia Hess, Kellie Sequeira, and Mark Simi, Head Counselor Cathie Pereira, and Athletic Director Jeff Lorenson have worked diligently with classified and certificated staff this summer to give us a great start. Talented and energetic new teachers are teaming up with our experienced educators to welcome our students with creative lessons and a variety of fun extracurricular activities. Our caring counselors and office staff are ready to support you.

Davis Senior High School is committed to:

* Ensuring a safe, inclusive, and respectful environment for all students

* Providing high quality instruction that is engaging and relevant to our students’ lives

* Fostering positive relationships that connect all students to our school in positive ways

There are many ways students can get involved and gain new friendships at Davis Senior High School. The All Student Center, our newest facility, has already become the hub of campus life. The ASC provides fresh and healthful meals daily, and it is an inviting place where students can meet with friends to study and socialize. The College and Career Center in the ASC offers students chances to seek volunteer opportunities during high school and explore pathways to their future. At our Academic Center, students receive help with their assignments in nearly every subject from U.C. Davis tutors. I also encourage all students to explore the more than fifty student-led clubs on our campus.

You can find more important information about our school on our website at http://dshs.djusd.net.

I look forward to a fantastic year supporting the students of Davis Senior High School as they learn, pursue their interests, and gain friendships. My door is open to you and I value your thoughts and ideas. I appreciate the opportunity to work with you and your student to make this school year a special one.

Go Big Blue!

Tom McHale, Principal
