DJUSD Schools Open as Regularly Scheduled- Police Have Lifted Shelter In Place Order Friday, January 11

In the early hours of this morning, Davis Police located the suspected gunman deceased with an apparent self-inflicted gunshot wound in the Downtown Davis area. Police have lifted the shelter in place order and given the all clear for schools to open as regular scheduled.

Schools that were closed temporarily last night for security are open today and all classes and activities are taking place as scheduled.  As a school community we are deeply saddened by the report that Davis Police Department Officer Natalie Corona died last night after sustaining fatal gunshot wounds. We send our heartfelt condolences to her family and to fellow police officers.  We also extend our sincere gratitude to all public safety personnel for their bravery and commitment to keeping our children, our schools and our community safe each day.
