THIS DAY IN HISTORY: 1906 - U.S. President Theodore Roosevelt left for Panama to see the progress on the new canal. It was the first foreign trip by a U.S. president.

The next Financial Literacy class is at lunch in the Career Center. Pizza will be provided. A representative from Yolo Federal Credit Union, in partnership with the PTA, will discuss budgeting, financial goal setting, how to create a resume and tips for finding a job. Come to the Career Center this week to sign up!

SENIORS:  Did you miss last night’s Financial Aid Workshop?  If so, come to the Career Center to pick up financial aid materials that were handed out at the event.

Attention all DHS instrumental soloists this is a note to prepare you for this year’s DHS Concerto Competition:

The annual DHS Orchestra Concerto Competition will be held Wednesday, January 23, 2019 at 7:00pm on stage in the DHS Brunelle Performance Hall. It is open to all DHS instrumentalist and free to the public to view. The winner of this competition will be given the honor of performing with the DHS Symphony Orchestra as well as a check for $500.00.A sign-up sheet and informational flyer are now on the window of the computer lab in PA-3. It is important to start to plan for this event now and begin preparing your solos ASAP. Deadline to sign up is Friday November 16th.Email Mr. Moreno if you have questions at amoreno@djusd.net


SENIORS! Do you know about the tradition of Davis Grad Night?  Davis Grad Night is a fun, safe and sober all-night celebration for graduating seniors from the four high schools within the District (Davis Senior High School, DaVinci High School, Martin Luther King High School and DSIS).  The party is held at Emerson Junior High School, with the entire campus transformed into a nightclub filled with activities, hundreds of raffle prizes and an all-night cafe.  The decorations theme changes every year and is top secret until it is revealed at Grad Night. "Winter Ball 2018 is Saturday December 1st. Tickets go on sale November 13th-16th and the 26th-30th during lunch at the finance office window. Prices are $10 with ASB and $15 without. Guest passes need to be turned in before purchase. No sales at the door. Tickets are limited!”

The annual Food Drive will take place from November 5th through 16th, donate cans to your 4th period class. All proceeds will go to STEAC and winners will receive a pizza party!

North Davis Elementary School still needs male cabin leaders for their Walker Creek trip January 7-11.  If you are a guy who is interested in being a Cabin Leader with North Davis, please come to the Career Center this week to pick up an application.
